The Defender

God is your defender against the attacks of the enemy.  Psalm 7:10 (AKJV) My defense is of God, which saves the upright in heart.  The enemy is very tricky when he attacks.  He will use people (sometimes those closest to us, can be the very ones who hurt us the most), situations that seem hopeless, or even try to attack us in our thoughts.  But we have to remember what it says in Exodus 14:14 (NLT) The Lord himself will fight for you.  Just stay calm.

Allow God to defend you when you are under any kind of attack.  Psalm 12:1-8 (NLT) I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there?  My help comes from the Lord, who made the heaven and earth!  He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.  Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.  The Lord himself watches over you!  The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.  The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.  The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.  The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.  Let God be your protective shade today.  He will not fail you.  He will not leave you nor forsake you.  He loves you and nothing can separate you from His love.  This causes Him to be protective and watchful over His children so that we don’t fall, give up or lose the battle before He makes sure we come out a winner.

God is always ready to fight for you.  He has an army of angels ready to fight on your behalf at any given second.  God’s army is bigger, stronger and smarter than any circumstance you are facing right now.  He has never lost a battle and never will!  He has already conquered the enemy, death and overcome this world.  So who would be better to defend you in battle, you or God?  Let Him fight your battle!  The battle was never meant for you fight it and win it on your own.  Only God has the power to fight and win a battle on His own.

Who are you allowing to defend you in your current circumstances?  Are your hands so full working all over your circumstances trying to fix everything or have you opened your problems, hands and circumstances to put them in God’s hands to fix?  Are you too busy using all your limited resources fighting your battles or are you letting God and His endless amount of resources work to your advantage and fight your battle for you?  Again, God has never lost a battle.  If He is that good all by Himself to never lose a battle, then why would He need your hands to be touching all over your problems trying to fix them?  If He delivered you before out of things you never thought you would make it out off or when you didn’t see no way and He made a way, then He can do it again and again and again.  God and His infinite army are there to rescue you, but only if you allow Him to do it.  Move over and get out of His way so He can do what needs to be done for your battle to be won.

Don’t you give up during the battle feeling defeated or hopeless but give the battle over to God and allow Him to fight it on your behalf.  So that your battle ends the way God intended it to all along, with you coming out as more than a conqueror and victorious in the end.  Romans 8:37 (AMP) Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him who loved us.  The only way to win is to become a winner at surrendering your fight to God so that your battle can surrender in defeat into His hands.  Only God can save you, defend you, protect you, shield you and give you peace all at the same time.  He is always with you, even when you don’t feel or hear him.  Acknowledge Him and let Him know you need Him to fight for you and to give you peace while you wait to see the battle before you won by the almighty God you’ve seen Him be in your life before.  Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.  Let God defend you, and rest in His peace and with thanksgiving in your heart remember what He has already delivered you from.

Defender means to make or keep safe from danger, attack, or harm.  Protect means to keep something safe by coming between it and any threat of harm or injury.  Guard means to keep watch.  Shield means to provide a barrier against something dangerous or destructive.  God defends us from the plans of the enemy, protects us from ourselves and others, guards us from destructive paths/behaviors and shields us from the pain of our past.  God’s goal is to protect you from the enemy to get you to your destiny.  That’s why it is God’s responsibility for guarding us against the attacks of the enemy.  You don’t need to defend yourself, God will defend you.  His arms are always stretched out for you to run too.  He will be there to hold you, comfort you, love you, strengthen you and save you.  Psalm 18:2-3 (NLT) The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my savior; My God is my rock, in who I find protection.  He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.  I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.

No weapon or attack used by the enemy will prosper against you.  When you’re in battle, surrender the situation to God, and put on the full armor of God so that you can be kept by God during the battle.  Ephesians 6:13-18 (NLT) Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.  Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.  Stand your ground putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.  For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.  In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.  Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.  Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.  Only with God and His armor will you be able to stand firm in your battle and defeat the enemy.  So no matter what crisis, disaster or circumstance you face, the only way to overcome it is with GOD!!! If you will pray for everything God has for you, then you will stand through anything that the enemy has planned for you.  Turn to God, so He can turn it around and cause it all to work for your good!!  He is your defender and He will defend you in any battle that comes your way.  He sees everything, knows everything, and He can do anything.  There is nothing too hard for God, and no battle is too big for Him to lose.

Silent Frustrations

Silent frustrations meaning is to not express aloud the feelings of being upset or annoyed, especially because of the inability to change or achieve something.  So if frustration can also mean the prevention of the progress, success, or fulfillment of something, then what could you be preventing God from doing in your life because of these silent frustrations your are holding onto? These silent frustrations are things that you have allowed to frustrate you that you haven’t dealt with, avoid dealing with or just didn’t realize the situation was causing you frustration.  You are frustrated but you silently try to hold your frustration to yourself instead of taking the frustration to God.  It says in Matthew 11:28 (NLT) Then Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Surrender the frustrations to God, for He will give you strength to keep pushing forward and peace while you wait on seeing His promises come to pass in your life.  Psalm 29:11 (NLT) The Lord gives people strength.  The Lord blesses them with peace.  Don’t let theses frustrations steal your peace!

Silent frustrations can lead to anger, resentment, bitterness and cause to you feel hopeless and discouraged.  Concentrate more on God and less on yourself and the things that are causing you frustration.  For it says in Isaiah 26:3-4 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!  Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.  Frustration also causes internal pressures brought on by outside circumstances that you on your own cannot fix.  The frustration creates a distraction where you only see your problems from your view.  It makes it harder to see things God’s way.  It makes you start to lose hope in yourself, doubt the promises that God wants to fulfill in your life and it makes you want to give up before you receive your breakthrough.  But don’t give up because of those frustrations and don’t give into your hopelessness believing your God is not enough to handle your circumstances.  Hebrews 10:35-36 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord.  Remember the great reward it brings you!  Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will.  Then you will receive all that he has promised.  So remember trouble doesn’t last always and the things seen are temporary and things unseen are eternal.  The same frustrations you are having right now, you don’t have to have them.  You can turn them over to God and let Him handle your frustrations and bring to pass His promises in your life.  1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.  He wants to take care of you and your problems, but He can only do this if you let Him.  It’s your choice that only you can make for yourself.  You can keep being frustrated and let all these silent frustrations build up in you till you blow.  Which can lead to deeper issues and bigger problems, so who wants that?  Or you can admit them to yourself and to God and turn them over to Him.  Change what you can and allow Him to change what you can’t!!

What are you holding onto that is causing you silent frustrations?  Are frustrated with a person you are in a relationship with or work with?  If so, are you trusting God to change the situation and make it better?  Could you be silently frustrated waiting on God to bring a promise to pass in your life?  Every frustration you have, there is a reason for it and a lesson to be learned from it.  What lessons could God be trying to teach you from your frustrations?  Being frustrated can lead you to believe the wrong conclusion about God.  That He is not for you and that He is against you or punishing you because you have not seen your prayer answered yet.  It says in John 15:17 (NLT) But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted.  So ask God for what you need, so your needs can be met by Him.  Who else can remove your frustrations and give you peace?  You can’t do that for yourself, only He can do it for you.

Silent frustrations can be a silent killer to your hopes, dreams and your future.  The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy the purpose God has placed in you.  Don’t let him use your silent frustrations as a weapon against you to steal your hope, kill your dreams and destroy your future.  For God can deliver you out of your troubles, issues and silent frustrations if you take them to Him.  Psalm 54:7 (ESV) For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.  Turn your frustrations over to God so He can make you victorious over them and your problems.

Use your faith when you are frustrated with your circumstances.  If your faith is low, then read God’s word and speak His word over yourself and your situation.  If you speak God’s word enough for you to hear it, your faith will begin to build up and you will start to believe more and more of what His word says.  Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God.  Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.  God makes invisible progress before He shows you the visible progress He’s made in your life.  Give yourself the assurance to know that although you can’t see the tangible evidence of God working in your life, know that He is causing all things to work together for your good. He is going to make sure that you see His promises come to pass in your life.  He made the promises and He is going to keep them because he is not a man that he should lie nor son of a man that he would break his promises to you.

So trust God with surrendering these silent frustrations over to Him and allow Him to take the wheel of your life before you get yourself involved in wrecking your life.  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.  He will correct any mistakes you have made and get you back on the path you need to be on so you can reach the destiny that He designed for you.  So when you are feeling frustrated, ask yourself why are you frustrated and then turn it over to God.  The frustration you feel is an opportunity to learn to trust in God more and grow more in your relationship with Him!

Anchor of Hope

In the journey of life we go through so many storms.  They sometimes shake our faith, make us doubt the power that God has over our lives and sometimes pushes us to give up before we receive our victory.  God does not want us to be moved by the storms we face.  For God is with us and the storms we face are developing us.  During these storms the trust and faith we have in God is growing deeper in us to get our roots planted in Him.  When God can get to the root of our problems, issues, and weaknesses then He can make the necessary changes in us so that we grow more in Him and less in our flesh.  It says in James 1:2 (NIV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters.  Whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and completely not lacking anything.  We need to use our anchor in God which is hope, to keep pushing forward until we get to the end of the storm.  Merriam Webster dictionary says that hope is a desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment. Hebrew 6:18-19 (NLT) So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to Lie. Therefore we who have fled to him for refuge can have hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Allow hope to be your anchor in the Lord today.  Stand on His word and gain strength from Him because in our weakness, He is made strong.  If you use hope as your anchor in the Lord, it will hold you in place during the storm.  So that you will stand firm, be unmovable, unshakeable and never giving up till you see the storm has passed over you.  Hope is what helps us to see the sun shining during our storms.  Anchor means a person or thing that provides strength and support.  Hope in God is our anchor that provides us with the strength and support to not be overtaken by the storms we face.  Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.  Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you.  I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.  So, if God will hold you up with His victorious right hand, then why do we walk around defeated, discouraged and afraid?  He is fighting for you and all you need to do is stay calm and speak God’s word back to the storm.  He possesses all the power in the world, so His word possesses that same power. If God is for you, then who can be against you?  No one who can defeat you can be against you if God is fighting for you!

In Luke 8:23-24 (NLT) it says As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap.  But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake.  The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger.  The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, were going to drown!”  When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.  When the disciples were in the boat with Jesus during this storm, Jesus fell asleep during the storm.  You might ask yourself, how could he fall asleep during a storm?  Well, it’s because he knew he could rest in God’s peace and that he had the power to control the storm.  All Jesus had to do is speak to the storm and the storm suddenly stopped and calmed down.  How Jesus was during this storm is how God wants us to be during our storms, to rest in his peace and know that we have power over our storms.  The same power and authority that Jesus had when he spoke to the storm is the same power and authority that God has placed inside each one of us. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 (NIV)  “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  If He could calm the storm they were in and bring them to safety, couldn’t He do the same thing for you in your storm?  No matter how your storm looks right now, the storm will always end with God getting you to the destination that leads you to safety.  So keep your hope in God that He may abound in you and bring His promises to pass in your life.    If Jesus overcame this world and every issue we would face in it on the cross, then we should know He has the power to overcome the storm we are in.  Jesus says in John 16:33 (NLT) I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me.  Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows.  But take heart, because I have overcome this world.

If your hope is lost in your storm right now remember what Romans 12:12 says Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  So pray Romans 15:13 That God, the source of hope will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him.  Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
