One morning I woke up not feeling right in my emotions but I had to go to God to help me put words to it and how to come out of feeling this way. The Holy Spirit led me to worship. During it God revealed that no matter how I woke up feeling, no matter what my thoughts were or what I was believing in that moment was not my truth but the word of God is my truth. John 17:17 (TPT) “Your Word is truth! So make them holy by the truth. Declare who He is and who He says you are is your truth. When you speak the word of God, God has to respond to His word. So, I started speaking and declaring His word above those thoughts and feelings. In that moment I felt the Holy Spirit come in and shift the atmosphere. I no longer had those negative thoughts for feelings. Everything changed when I started speaking God’s word. God’s word has the power to change things! Hebrews 4:12 (AMP) For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. Remember His word is your truth that you can build your life on! Matthew 7:24-25 (MSG) “These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. Keep God’s word in front of you, meditate on it, and speak it as you go through your day.
