Colossians 2:2-6 says My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united and in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine sounding arguments, for though I am absent from you in the body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is, so then just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord continue to live your lives in him.
Be encouraged today in the Lord. Know that the greater the opposition you face, the greater the reward you will receive. Yes what you are going through might be hard for you but God said “Is anything too hard for me”, in Genesis 18:14. You should always know that any opposition you face there is always greater things (blessing, healing, deliverance, anointing, etc.) on the other side of it. By being discouraged you give the devil power over you and your problems. It’s up to you if you live with encouragement or discouragement. If you find yourself discouraged, command your day, thoughts, problems and everything else as the Lord’s for it says Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it. Jesus paid the price for your life when he went to the cross. He bore every pain, illness, heartache, sin, and every tear you’ve cried on that cross, so that you would have an abundant life. So to live in this abundance, you have to know that whenever you feel that you lack something go to the One who lacks nothing. Everything you need can be found in God. Philippians 4:19 says but my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Put a smile on your BEAUTIFUL face and make today great!!
Heavenly Father, thank you for today and for making sure all of my needs are met. Thank you for being my Encourager and Comforter. Lord, help me to encourage others as you encourage me. Fill my heart with love and fill my mind with wisdom and knowledge of knowing you better. Show me how to surrender any negative feelings, emotions or thoughts that I have over to you. As I go through this day, let nothing bring me down and that I would fully walk in your grace which is sufficient. Lord, because you have made this day let me rejoice and be glad in it. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
1 Samuel 17:48-49 (NLT) As Goliath (giant) moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine (giant) in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath (giant) stumbled and fell face down on the ground.
What things in your life feel like giants in front of you that you must defeat before you can move forward? Sometimes when we begin to face giants in our lives, we feel afraid or unable to gain victory over them. We even try to run from it instead of facing it head on. Jesus said in John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on Earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. Regardless of what we face or how daunting it looks, you will overcome the giants in front of you. Before they fall, you must stand up and face your giants. You too can defeat and be victorious over any giant just as David defeated Goliath. No matter how big the giant is before you, remember that it can be defeated because your God is always bigger than it. Giants will always fall because they are shown to be powerless and inadequate to a God who reigns supreme over all.
Father, thank you for sending your son to overcome this world. Thank you that no matter what I face I can be victorious over it. Reveal to me anything in my life that I have allowed to defeat me. I know now that any giants I face are powerless to You. Give me the wisdom to use what I have to confront any giants in front of me. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!
Matthew 19:26 (AMP) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Often difficult situations appear daunting and impossible when viewed from the human perspective. From our viewpoint, it seems beyond our own ability or resources that make it seem like it can’t be done. In His word, God makes it very clear anything is possible. Philippians 4:13 (AMP) I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] This assures you that with God there is nothing that you can’t do. God says you can achieve whatever He tells you can do. It is possible to complete everything that God as revealed to you and called you to do. Anything that scares you that God has purposed you to do you can do! You can do everything you believed you couldn’t because you don’t do it in your own strength. No, you do it through Christ who gives you strength. He is the One who gives you the courage and ability to do it. He makes resources available to you so you can do it.
Father, I thank you that I can depend on you to provide for me. Thank you for listening to me and showing me that anything is possible through you. Enlighten my mind to believe that when things look impossible in my life that I can call upon you and gain strength to face the very things that intimidate me. Remind me that you are with me wherever I go and as I encounter challenges that I should declare your word that gives me a confident peace. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Exodus 13:3 (NLT) So Moses said to the people, “This is a day to remember forever—the day you left Egypt, the place of your slavery. Today the Lord has brought you out by the power of his mighty hand.
We have often experienced being enslaved in our minds. Our thoughts have produced chains that have us feeling bound and unable to get free. Sometimes we find ourselves imprisoned by things we thought we’re delivered from. Only to discover they lay dormant for a while and still has us in bondage. There’s something in your life causing you to accept limiting thoughts that cause you to feel paralyzed and unable to move. This bondage can show a dominating influence over you that you can’t seem to shake, and you’re unsure why. What from your past still holds you hostage to a mentality that holds you back or where in your life do you feel imprisoned? Today is a new day and there is freedom with God. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (AMP) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]. Remember to proclaim you have received the freedom that God has already given you. Galatians 5:1 So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Whatever has you bound is not going to loosen its grip on you until you discern the inception of it. When you figure out where it started then you can go to God’s word and apply truth to the lie you believed and experience freedom.
Lord, thank you for giving me insight and revelation where I have believed lies that were never true about me. I walk in freedom because your word says Christ has set me free. Reveal to me any area of my life where I am still held in bondage. Break every chain that has taken root in me and holds me back from living a liberated life. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen
A change in perspective is needed when you are struggling with wrong thinking. Your thoughts about a person, place or thing should be good. When it’s not, ask God to change your viewpoint so you can begin to see it from his position. Seeing things from His angle can allow you to better understand the purpose of it. Sometimes when you look at your problems you only see the route out of them from your perspective, but when you can learn to see things how God sees them, it can open your eyes to see many routes and the opportunities for growth in it. In order to change your perspective about your past, struggles, problems or weaknesses, start by taking your thoughts captive. Choose to relinquish them to God and ask Him to give you a change in your perspective.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMP) We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 MSG The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
Heavenly Father, thank you for clarity and being able to gain a better understanding of you. Impart on me the capacity to view things in their true nature according to how you have positioned and purposed them for me to experience. Expand my mind to have a better understanding from your point of view when my perspective goes against what your word says. Teach me how to take my thoughts captive and cast out of me every thought that is not in complete obedience to Christ. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen
Fighting discouragement while you wait can sometimes seem so hard. Are you waiting on an answered prayer or question, waiting to meet and marry your future spouse, or waiting on a promise that God told you was yours? Whatever it is that you are waiting on, you must be willing to set it aside and continue walking with God. Be active in that wait, worshipping, praising, reading your scriptures, listening to the word, reading books that educate, uplift and encourage you. God speaks through so many avenues that you must be open to hear from Him however He wants to speak to you. No matter what, keep hoping and believing in Him so that you can stay encouraged
Deuteronomy 31:8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Heavenly Father, thank you that we can be encouraged by You and Your word. Disclose to me how to use every tool and resource that you have equipped me with to fight discouragement and discontentment in my life. Enable me to be busy living a full life committed to you beyond the distraction of paying attention to extent and length of my wait. Let me put off any defeating or oppressive thoughts and renew my mind to believe Your word. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen!
Know that God made a way for you to get through any situation. No matter what you face today, He already has your victory worked out. Remember the past situations that God has brought you out of, He made a way back then, so He can make a way today. The bible is full of stories about how God can turn things around and made a way. Even when things looked impossible, God made an escape route possible. If you feel trapped and you can’t even see beyond your problem, know that God has the solution to it already prepared for you. Respond to your situation based on what God’s word says and not based on your fears or doubts. God’s ability and resources are unlimited and far beyond what we can understand with our human minds.
Isaiah 43:16 Thus says the LORD, who makes a way through the sea And a path through the mighty waters
Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
Heavenly Father, thank you that you have given me ears to hear and eyes to see you. Position my feet to be firmly planted on your word and don’t let my heart be troubled by what I see and feel. Enlighten me to know more about you and open my eyes to see beyond my temporary condition. Give me wisdom to make right decisions that lead me closer to you. So that I may hear your voice directing me to walk in alignment with your perfect will for my life. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen!
Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up on everything that you need to complete in a day or week that your focus is more on those things and less on God. Ask yourself this – Is my focus on God or is it on something else? Are you so focused on today’s tasks that you forgot to ask for God’s help and guidance in completing them? Before you got caught up in your agenda for the day, did you neglect to ask the Lord what do you want me to do today or what needs my attention today? Life and all the things that come with it can make us so busy, but you must remember who God is and what His word says about where our focus should be. Remember when your focus is wrong, your actions to follow will be wrong also. You are reacting based on wrong thoughts instead of wisdom that only God can give you when your focus is on Him. Take a step back, remember to breathe, and look to God for whatever you need.
Colossians 3:2 And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me wisdom, revelation and more understanding of you. Teach me how to continually keep my focus on you and your word. Help me to keep meditating on it day and night. Let my actions reflect the fruit your word is producing in my everyday life. When my focus is on the wrong thing, fix my eyes and attention back onto you. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen!
Everything that has you in bondage and enslaved in your life must be laid down and given over to God. You must lay your burdens on the cross. This is the season to put it on the cross and leave it there, never to pick it up to carry it again. Letting go of it all and turning it over to Jesus who said in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He already paid the cost when he went to the cross. So many times we tell God we are giving this over to Him and then we go back and pick it back up like we couldn’t trust Him to carry the burden for us. Those burdens our heavy and it cost us a lot when we don’t truly allow God to carry them for us. It cost us joy, happiness, peace and so many other things including blessings that we miss out on because we are so focused on the burden and not the solution to the burden who is Jesus Christ. Whatever you are still burdened with leave it with God and pray to Him to help you to not pick it back up again. Today choose to walk in freedom, because Jesus already paid the price with His life so you would. Galatians 5:1 – The Messiah has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. Keep on standing firm in it, and stop putting yourself under the yoke of slavery again. God lives in you and where God is there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17 – Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Lord’s Spirit is, there is freedom.
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me your word and for breathing life into my very being. Reveal to me how to walk in total freedom from my past, my wounds, my hurts and my sin. Let nothing that currently has me in bondage be concealed anymore but bring light into every dark place in me where I try to hide hurtful thoughts and memories. Break me free from every chain, shackle, generational curse and prison that I allowed myself to live in to be no longer attached or attracted to me. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen!
The more you trust Jesus and keep your eyes focused on Him, the more you will experience the abundant life that Jesus died for. Trusting God brings abundant living. Believing God brings peaceful inhabitation. Stop trying to figure everything out, and let God be God in your life. Trusting in God’s perfect timing for your life should bring peace because He has it all worked out, and under His control. Put your total trust in Him for He will never fail you!
Psalms 37:3-6 Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Heavenly Father, thank you for opening my eyes to your word today. Expose to me the areas in my life where I need to trust you more. Make me aware when my focus is wrong and reveal to me how to renew my mind and bring my thoughts back into alignment on you. Lord give me your peace that surpasses all understanding and let me not depart from it. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen!
