Battle of the Mind

Whether you realize it or not there is a battle going on in your mind.  The battle is over your thoughts. The average person has between 50,000-70,000 thoughts per day, and 80% of those are negative.  More than half of those thoughts are repetitive.  What you think is what you begin to believe.  So, when you keep having the same recurring thoughts you will start to believe it whether you know it to be true or not.  Your mind is the control system to your entire body.   Every thought you have has a direct physiological effect on your body, emotions, the words you speak and your actions.

Joyce Meyer said “When a person is going through a hard time, his mind wants to give up.  Satan knows that if he can defeat us in our mind, he can defeat us in our experience”.   That’s why Satan is after your mind, because if you give him a foot hole in your mind then he can use that to control you.  Your feelings will be under his control, what you speak will be under his control, and your behavior will be under his control.  He will use your mind to try to control you like a puppet. Which will cause you to be completely miserable, hating life and disliking God and everything that He stands for.  It only takes one thought that can send you down a path that could lead to your own destruction.

Start rejecting the lies.  Well, how do I know if it is a lie? If it is not found in God’s word, then it is a lie.  Negative thinking produces a life full a negativity.  If you resist the temptation of giving into repetitive negative thoughts, they will go away. It is just like it says in the bible in dealing with the enemy James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Use the bible as your weapon against the enemy and wrong thinking.  Find out what God says in His word so when the negative thoughts come you can use the word against it. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

There was a time in my own life where I thought something was wrong with me, like something mentally wrong with me because all my thoughts were negative thoughts about myself.  That’s when I went to the word of God and I really started to learn about the love that God has for me and what He truly thinks about me.  Through learning about the love that God has for me, I begin to learn how to love myself and that things that I had previously believed about myself just weren’t true.

Learning to take your thoughts captive is so important in this process. Being aware of your thoughts and classifying them as positive or negative.  When it is a negative thought, take it captive by recognizing it and rejecting the thought, so you can renew your mind with a positive thought.  Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].  Renew means replace something old.  In order to renew your mind this involves replacing those old thoughts with new thoughts of your choosing.  It is your chance to decide what you will think about that leads to what you believe.

Stop telling and believing those repetitive thoughts and stories you keep telling about yourself that are just not true. Choose to live as it says in Colossians 3:2 Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].  Recognize that you are in a battle and you must choose how you are going to fight. The best way to fight is to use the word as your weapon and renew your mind in it.

Prayer:  Lord, I come before you today thanking you for being such an incredible Father to me.  Demolish lies the enemy manipulated me into believing and any confusion in my life that his lies have caused me to have. Let me be completely clear from this day on about what the truth is.  The truth is your word and what your word says about me.  I decree and declare today that no outside force will do my thinking for me.  For God your word is my truth and I proclaim that you have given me authority over the enemy. So he does not have any authority or power over me, my thoughts or my mind.  Lord, give me discernment to recognize all the lies the enemy has told me and every lie someone has told me about myself.  Lord today in Jesus Name I bind every negative thought, lie and reminder from my past that the enemy has tried to use to keep me in shame, guilt, defeat, doubt, bondage, fear, worry, anxiety, and low self-esteem.  God, I refuse to let the lies take root in me, or hinder me to go after the call that you have placed on my life.  For today is the day that I evict satan from any place that I have given him in my mind and my thoughts.  Fill the places God in my mind where I need more of you.  Help me to take my thoughts captive and renew my mind in you and your word.  In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen!

I Wanna Be Free

As we have entered into a new year, something that I have noticed about myself is that I am not as free as I thought I was. Not that I felt like I had it all together, because I know I don’t and I’m still a work in progress. I just hadn’t realized that my past still has some chains holding me down. There is still parts of my past that I am allowing to hold me back and hinder me from moving forward into the incredible life God has for me. Sometimes as you go on living life, it will be revealed to you what things, people or situations that you’re still allowing to control you and what you believe about yourself. Those things can have you believing things about yourself that are lies. Which inhibits you to live and act as if you are not free. If God didn’t say it or it doesn’t line up with what God would say about you, then it’s a lie. Don’t allow the negative things others have said or done change the way you choose to live your life. 1 Peter 2:16 (AMP) [Live} as free people, [yet] without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; but [live at all times] as servants of God.  Once I became aware that I was still bound I began to have the desire to want to be free. Free from the thoughts of my past, free from the negative emotions it causes me to feel and free to be me with not having to feel like I have explain anything to anyone. Free in the Webster dictionary means release from captivity, confinement, or slavery. Not bound, confined, or detained by force. Capable of moving or turning in any direction. It says in Galatians 5:1 In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have put off].  I needed to come to the realization that Jesus died so that I would be free. That means I would be free from anything that bound or enslaved me.

The word Freedom in the Webster dictionary means the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another. God’s word says in John 8:36 (AMP) So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.  I learned I needed to walk in freedom because God’s word says I am free. In order to walk in that freedom I had to learn how to lay my burdens on the cross. Everything that has had me in bondage and enslaved me, I must lay it down and give it over to God. It is a new year, it is the right time and a new season to put it on the cross and leave it there, never to pick it up to carry it again. Letting go of it all and turning it over to Jesus who said in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are wary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and burden is light.”  He already paid the cost when he went to the cross. It says in Romans 8:1-5 (MSG) With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death. God went for the jugular when he sent his own Son. He didn’t deal with the problem as something remote and unimportant. In his Son, Jesus, he personally took on the human condition, entered the disordered mess of struggling humanity in order to set it right once and for all. The law code, weakened as it always was by fractured human nature, could never have done that. The law always ended up being used as a Band-Aid on sin instead of a deep healing of it. And now what the law code asked for but we couldn’t deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us.  So many times we tell God we are giving this over to Him and then we go back and pick it up like we couldn’t trust him to carry the burden for us. We think we have the power to fix it all by ourselves. Well it says in Romans 8:6-8 (MSG) Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. And God isn’t pleased at being ignored. Those burdens are heavy and it cost us a lot when we don’t truly allow God to carry them for us. It cost us joy, happiness, peace, freedom and so many other things including blessings that we miss out on because we are so focused on the burden and trying to fix it ourselves that we forget that we already have the solution to the burden who is Jesus Christ. Whatever you are still burdened with leave it with God and pray to Him to help you to not pick it back up again so that you can live in total freedom.

When Jesus went to heaven, God gave us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. God lives in each one of us because we have the Holy Spirit. For it says in 2 Corinthians 3:17 (AMP) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).  Since the Holy Spirit lives in us and wherever God is there is freedom, than all we have to do is walk in this freedom. God gave us freedom and He lives in us to help us walk in the freedom that He gave us. So everyday we should be walking in the assurance of the freedom God gave us. We have to learn to walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-17 (AMP) But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do.  So in order to walk in the Holy Spirit we have to seek God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. In order to walk in the Spirit, we can’t be trying to do what we want, but we need to be doing what God wants us to do. Galatians 5:25 (AMP) If we [claim to] live by the [Holy] Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit [with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage—our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit].  Every day we must walk in the Spirit in our thoughts and through our actions by using God’s word. Alistair Begg said “When we become captive to the Word of God, then we discover true freedom.”

God gave me this word so that I could become free and let all of you know that you can become free too. Isaiah 61:1 (AMP) The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, becasuse the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound.  Just as much as I want to be free and live free, I desire that very much for you also. No longer allowing yourself or the way that you live your life bound from anything of this world. Jesus went to the cross so that you would be free. God’s word says that you are free. So you are free to walk in the freedom that has been given to you. Galatians 5:13-14 (AMP) For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.  As you walk in freedom from this day on from whatever had you bound, be sure to ask God to reveal to you someone who needs help walking in freedom too.

Steps to be free:
Come to the realization I needed to be free
Have the desire to be free
Seek God for freedom and what His word say about your freedom
Put into action how to live in total freedom
Help someone else become free after I have walked in freedom myself

Lord we thank you for today and the opportunity you have given us to become free from what has held us captive. If we are not aware of what is holding us in bondage in our lives, Lord make us so aware of it in a way that we know it is you telling us where we are enslaved and need to be free. Show us what we need to see in order for us to walk in the freedom that you have already given us. Help us to walk more in your Spirit and less in our flesh. Romans 8:5 (AMP) For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the Holy Spirit.  God we need you in order to be able to walk in your Spirit, so that we may set our minds and actions on things that are pleasing to you. Lord help us to turn over what ever it is that is weighing us down, keeping us in the dark or hindering us from moving into the incredible life that you have for us. Let us do as it says in Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not remember the former things, or ponder the things of the past.  God guide us in taking our thoughts captive and meditating on what your word says about us day and night. Fill us God with more of you and less of ourselves. Lord as we overcome being free in whatever area we are struggling in or that you bring awareness of where we need to get free from let us do as it say in Philipians 3:13-I4 do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  Help me God to not allow anything I am currently going through or anything from my past to entangle me in shackles, chains or bondages. I pray that every wall is torn down that I have put to protect myself from things or people, and I give you complete authority over my protection from people, things and situations that are out of my control. Free me from what others have said about me, or what I think they thought about me. Free me from the approval that I sometimes feel I need from others and free me from caring about the dispproval that people give me in my acts of obedience to what you have called me to do. Lord let me not walk anymore enslaved to anything or anyone but you. Lord as your word says in John 14:27 Let your perfect peace calm me in every circumstance and give me courage and strength for every challenge.  But Lord let me walk in today as a new creature that you have made me to be as it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].  But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him].  Lord help us to pass on what you have taught us in seeking you and our own freedom to help someone else in bondage. Let us from this day walk in the new life that you have given us through us finding freedom in you. Let everything in our life be in complete alignment with your word, your ways and your will for our lives. We love you and appreciate all you do. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!!!

I Surrender

Are you trusting God and depending on Him to work out the situation you find yourself in today? So many times we are going about the business of everyday living, and then comes a problem or we start struggling with something that God has revealed as a weakness for us to work on.  Instead of going to God with the problem or weakness, we continue on with life trying to either fix it on our own or mask it so we don’t have to deal with it.  When our problems only involve us fixing them or not wanting to admit to ourselves that we are struggling, it only creates more trouble in the long run for us.  You need to include God in everything you do.  He makes everything better.

God is about equipping us with knowledge so that we can become better people and make better decisions. He will always bring things to the light because we can’t see clearly in darkness without it.  The enemy operates best in darkness and those dark places inside us. The adversary wants us to keep masking our problems and weaknesses so that we stay ignorant, don’t progress and are destroyed.  It says in Hosea 4:6 (NASB) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest.  Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Have you rejected God’s help?  Are you unwilling to bring to the light those things you need God to work on for you and in you? Stop fighting and resisting God’s help.  Accept the fact that you have shortcomings and that you cannot resolve them on your own.  Surrender them to the Lord today.

Surrender means: to agree to stop fighting, hiding, resisting, because you know that you will not win or succeed; It also means to give up, abandon, or relinquish; To give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield. So we need to submit ourselves and our life to God (which encompasses all we are and every tribulation we go through no matter the size).  It says in James 4:7 (ESV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. You can’t win against your enemies unless you surrender your life and submit it to God.  When you don’t want to surrender it to God, let that be your alert to know that you really need to surrender that to Him.  When you keep holding onto it, you will only deceive yourself into thinking you can do it on your own and you can do it without Him. Jesus said in John 15:5-8 (MSG) “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. John 15:6 (MSG)Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples. The only way to be overcome and be a conqueror is with God. The only way to see a resolution to your problems is by giving it over to the Lord.  Sometimes we can get confused with surrendering it over to God.  We think it makes us powerless to act on our own behalf in our circumstances.  Power can be gained in letting go. Surrender is never about giving up and all about letting go.  The strongest position you can be in is complete surrender.

Jesus is a perfect example of a life surrendered.  It says in Matthew 26:36-44(MSG) Then Jesus went with them to a garden called Gethsemane and told his disciples, “Stay here while I go over there and pray.” Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he plunged into an agonizing sorrow. Then he said, “This sorrow is crushing my life out. Stay here and keep vigil with me.”  Going a little ahead, he fell on his face, praying, “My Father, if there is any way, get me out of this. But please, not what I want. You, what do you want?”  When he came back to his disciples, he found them sound asleep. He said to Peter, “Can’t you stick it out with me a single hour? Stay alert; be in prayer so you don’t wander into temptation without even knowing you’re in danger. There is a part of you that is eager, ready for anything in God. But there’s another part that’s as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire.”  He then left them a second time. Again he prayed, “My Father, if there is no other way than this, drinking this cup to the dregs, I’m ready. Do it your way.”  When he came back, he again found them sound asleep. They simply couldn’t keep their eyes open. This time he let them sleep on, and went back a third time to pray, going over the same ground one last time.  Before Jesus went to the cross, He surrendered having to go to the cross to God.  He kept telling God, not my will, but your will be done.  Are you willing to tell God, not my will but your will be done?  Are you willing to let the situation go, and allow God’s plan for it to play out in your life so that He can fix you and your struggles all at the same time? Dr. Charles Stanley said “Oftentimes, the more we surrender to God, the greater our ability to see His hands in our life. Don’t you want to see God’s hands move in your life?  Don’t you want to see God take you from glory to glory and strength to strength?

Ask God today, Lord what do I need to surrender to you today? Let Him show you what it is that you need to surrender so that you can be free from your burdens.  Don’t go into 2017 still carrying things from 2016 or years before that.  Let it go, and stop burdening yourself with things you have no control over and no power to fix.  Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30 (NLV) “Come to Me, all of you who work and have heavy loads. I will give you rest.  Follow My teachings and learn from Me.  I am gentle and do not have pride.  You will have rest for your souls.  For My way of carrying a load is easy and My load is not heavy.”  Don’t forget, God is strong enough to carry your load and He wants you to bring it to Him and let it go from your hands.  When you know you have done all you can, then surrender it to God and allow Him to come in and fix what you can’t.  God calls us to live a life that is completely surrendered to Him.  If you know you need to let somethings go today and surrender them to God, please pray this prayer.

Prayer: Lord, I lay aside my agenda, my desires, and my will to live according to your will, your ways and by your word.  Help me to get into alignment with your plan for my life so that I can walk in the steps you have ordered for me to accomplish the purpose and destiny you created me for.  Lord, I surrender to you my thoughts, deeds, ideas, fears, doubts, worries and (name specifically whatever you need to surrender).  I want to walk daily in a life surrendered completely to you, but I will need your help to do this.  I don’t want to pick back up any of the things I have given over to you, so please remind me when I do.  I am letting go of everything that has hindered me from moving forward in life and I am handing over everything that has been in my hands long enough.  Lord, I give it all to you.  I lay it at your feet because there is nothing more I can do with this but give it to you to handle.  There is nothing that you can’t do and nothing to big that you can’t fix.  So I surrender it all to you.  As I surrender to you Lord, please give me your peace.  The peace that only you can give, that surpasses all understanding.  Fill me today with more of you and less of me.  And I thank you for helping me to surrender everything to you and walk out a surrendered life.  In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen!

Hold Onto & Stand On God’s Promises

Do you trust God’s word over your life? I mean really trust God at his word, that what he says in his word is true for your life?  So many times we think the promises and blessings in the bible are just words.  We believe it’s not for us, but for someone else who we think has it all together and isn’t struggling in their faith or in our eyes they seem perfect.  Well, let me tell you today that none of us are perfect (Jesus was the only perfect person to walk this earth).  We are all dealing with some kind of issue or struggle in our life whether we realize it or not.  If you are struggling to trust God in different areas of your life, then how can you believe or expect to see his promises manifest in your life?  It says in Hebrews 10:23 (NLT) Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. So while you wait on the Lord to bring those promises to pass in your life, trust God.  Trust him to do what he said he would do because his word never fails.

You need to be encouraged today and keep standing on God’s promises. Even when times are tough, even when you don’t know how God can fix your circumstances, keep standing on his promises and know that God is good and faithful. 2 Peter 1:4 (NLT) And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the worlds corruption caused by human desires.  Promise means a declaration or assurance that one will do a particular thing or that a particular thing will happen in the future; assure someone that one will definitely do, give, or arrange something; ground for expectation of success, improvement, or excellence; indication of something favorable to come.  It says in 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 (MSG) Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.  God’s promises are his assurance of what is to come in our future if we just believe.  We have to believe them to see them.

Just as God made a promise to Abraham in the bible, he is sure to fulfill his promises to you.  It says in Hebrews 6:17-20 (MSG) When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us.  God’s promises and his word are incapable of failing. Luke 1:37(NIV) For no word from God will ever fail.  Since his word does not fail means his promises does not fail and that he never fails.

A couple things that could be hindering you from seeing promises fulfilled in your life are old mindsets and behaviors. They are keeping you from believing and trusting that God wants to fulfill his promises in your life.  Romans 4:16-18 (AMP) Therefore, [inheriting] the promise depends entirely on faith [that is, confident trust in the unseen God], in order that it may be given as an act of grace [His unmerited favor and mercy], so that the promise will be [legally] guaranteed to all the descendants [of Abraham]—not only for those [Jewish believers] who keep the Law, but also for those [Gentile believers] who share the faith of Abraham, who is the [spiritual] father of us all.  Don’t allow fear, doubt, hopelessness, or worry to put you in a state of complacency, where you accept the way you live currently is how you will always live. Stop believing that God is not working to fulfill his promises in your life just because you don’t see tangible evidence of his progress.  God is a promise keeper, not a promise breaker.  It says in Numbers 23:19 (NIV) God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? God has never broken a promise or made a promise that he did not keep.

Trust God enough to be patient and wait for God to bring his promises to pass in your life. Remember during the waiting periods to not get impatient, tired, hopeless or doubtful that you will see them happen. Also, don’t make the promise bigger than God.  When the promise becomes bigger than God, you have maximized the promise so much that it’s all you focus on.  When you do this you lose focus on God.  You have now started to put the promise of God before God.  You begin to forget about the one who gave you the promise and you start talking more about the promise and less about the God who gave it to you.  Your promise has just become bigger than God to you.  God never intended for you to look at the promise that way.  How could a promise be bigger than God when he is the one who said it, so he will be the one to fulfill it?  It is going to take his resources and abilities for it to manifest in your life.  You cannot see a promise fulfilled unless God does it. A promise on its own can do nothing without the hand of God because it has no power without God.  Focus on God and hold onto his promises.  His promises gives you hope in the midst of your circumstance and speaks life into you and your situation.  Don’t make the mistake of your promise being bigger than God because you need him for the promise to manifest.  Don’t maximize God over the promise, but instead choose to focus on God and hold onto the promise to encourage you and give you hope until you see the promise happen in your life.

Today chose to live in expectation for God’s promises to come to pass in your life. Begin to speak his promises over yourself, your family, your friends, and your co-workers.  Speak them daily by putting them in places where they are constantly in your face for you to see and read them. By repeating them daily it will increase your faith, hope, peace, strength and patience to wait on God.  If you struggle to believe them at first, continue daily speaking them and eventually you will start to believe them.  God’s word has a way of getting into you and changing you from the inside out, even when you don’t even realize it.  Eventually you will see the fruit of the promises happening in your life.  Here is a prayer to pray God’s promises over your life:  Lord, today I choose to believe that you have promises that you want to fulfill in my life. I come into agreement with you and trust that I will see every promise that is written in your word come to pass in my life. For your word never fails.  Give me the faith I need to be able to see your promises manifest.  Because you affirmed me, made me a sure thing in Christ, and put your yes within me; by your spirit I have been stamped with your eternal pledge that what you have destined for me will be completed. Help me to change any old mindsets and behaviors that stop me from seeing and believing that your promises will be fulfilled.  Please reveal to me when I have maximized a promise to be bigger than you.  As I know that any promise you have for me can only be fulfilled by your hands.  Thank you for all the promises that have already been fulfilled in my life and for the ones that are yet to come. In Jesus Name, Amen

Salvation – Do You Want To Be Saved?

As you read this, some of you may not get this or agree with it but my hope is that you will continue to read this as someone you know may need to be saved. It says in 1 Corinthians 1:18 (AMP) For the message of the cross is foolishness [absurd and illogical] to those who are perishing and spiritually dead [because they reject it], but to us who are being saved [by God’s grace] it is [the manifestation of] the power of God. Some of you may be thinking that I am already saved so I don’t need to read this, but you should consider reading this for your unsaved family and friends. What if someone else’s salvation was in your hands and you didn’t do anything to save them? It says in 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (MSG) Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.  Why are we so willing talk about our favorite TV show with strangers, friends and our co-workers, but how many times have you reached out and told those same people about Christ?

Do you know what it means to be saved? Being saved means to turn away from living a life without God, that is focused solely upon yourself.  If your only concern is about yourself then you really don’t know yourself in Christ and you are lost. You have to know God to know who you are in Christ.  Jesus said in Matthew 10:39 (MSG) If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me. Don’t you want to know who you really are in Christ and what abilities and purpose God has placed in you?  No matter what your life looks like right now, God has purpose and plans for your life. It says in Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.  Your future is bright and so are the plans that God has for you. 2 Timothy 1:9 (NLT) For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time–to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. He did this out of love for you.  He made a declaration in front of people and one that millions of people would read about to show you that you are loved by him. John 3:16 (NLT) For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  His son endured a lot and eventually lost his life, so that you would gain an eternal one through him. Timothy Keller said, “The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.”

The only way to become saved is through salvation in Jesus Christ. Salvation means a source or means of being saved; deliverance or redemption from the power and effects of sin.  It says in Romans 10:10 (NLT) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. When you receive salvation, you are being saved from the righteous judgement of God as a sinner. Only through God can you receive salvation.  It says in Acts 4:12 (AMP) And there is salvation in no one else: for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation]. There is no other way to receive salvation but through God.

Who is salvation available too? It is available to everyone! Titus 2:11-14 (MSG) God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s available for everyone! We’re being shown how to turn our backs on a godless, indulgent life, and how to take on a God-filled, God-honoring life. This new life is starting right now, and is whetting our appetites for the glorious day when our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, appears. He offered himself as a sacrifice to free us from a dark, rebellious life into this good, pure life, making us a people he can be proud of, energetic in goodness. Everyone matters to God, no matter how lost you are. In the bible it clearly shows this with the two parables in Luke 15:3-10 (AMP) So He told them this parable:  “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one which is lost, [searching] until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.  And when he gets home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’  I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.  “Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins [each one equal to a day’s wages] and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her [women] friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, because I found the lost coin!’ In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents [that is, changes his inner self—his old way of thinking, regrets past sins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance; and seeks God’s purpose for his life].” Each lost soul matters to God.  Bryan Stevenson wrote that “Each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done.” So know today that no matter what you have done in your past that you are more than it because Jesus went to the cross and redeemed you from it.  Ephesians 2:8-9 (AMP) For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].

You might be thinking why should I want to be saved? Well, you should want to be saved because in the bible it clearly says that you can only be saved or condemned [to give someone a usually severe punishment]. It says in Mark 16:16 (AMP) He who has believed [in Me] and has been baptized will be saved [from the penalty of God’s wrath and judgment]; but he who has not believed will be condemned. Wouldn’t you rather be saved then condemned? God gives two very clear choices.  The only way to be saved is to receive salvation through him.  Romans 5:10 (AMP) For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more certain, having been reconciled, that we will be saved [from the consequences of sin] by His life [that is, we will be saved because Christ lives today].  Why would you not want to be saved when Jesus gave his life for us lovingly? How many people in your life would be willing to die for you like he did?  Romans 5:7-8 (NLT) Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  God has unconditional love for us that he’s shown us through Jesus.

Hopefully through reading this you have realized that you want to be saved or maybe you need to recommit your life to Christ. Choose today to make the right choice and give your life to Christ for real. You will never be the same and it will be the best decision you will ever make in your life.  Let me lead you to salvation with this prayer: Lord, today I choose to believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that you are my Lord and Savior. I know that I am a sinner and I come before you now and repent of my sins and ask for your forgiveness.  Thank you for sending your son to the cross so that I would be redeemed and forgiven through his death for my sin.   Please wash me clean from all my sin, shame and guilt.  Help me to turn away from my sinful nature and commit myself to you Lord from this day forward.  Lead me each day to know more of your word, walk by your ways and live in your will for my life.  Show me how to seek you and know you for myself. Transform me and my life according to your purpose for it.  I ask all these things in Jesus name, Amen!

If you have received salvation today, let me know it so I can pray for your new journey with Christ. Congratulations and Welcome To The Family!!

 God Bless

Fill Me Up

Life can leave you sometimes feeling like you’re on empty. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life (work, kids, school, church), health concerns, or death of a loved one can leave you feeling empty inside. Emptiness can leave you feeling lost, lonely, no real purpose or value.  Sometimes you will even feel like something is missing in your life, but you’re just now sure what that is.  The only solution to this problem is God.  Look up and look for God to fill you up.

As you read this you might be saying this is not for me, I don’t have this problem, but you should keep reading. Since we as humans cannot fully understand God’s peace, then how can you as a human even comprehend the depth of your emptiness? Philippians 4:7 (NLT) Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.   If God’s word says we can’t even understand his peace, then we surely could not understand the emptiness we feel inside.  You need God to fill you up.  Only he can do it! God can fill places in you that cannot be filled from anything in this world.  God said in John 14:27 (NLT) “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.  So don’t be troubled or afraid.  He wanted us to experience emptiness so it could only be him to fill us.  He designed us this way, so we would need him.  He wanted us to have a relationship with him and go to him with our needs.  It says in Philippian 4:19 (AMP) And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. He is the only one who can fill the emptiness we have inside us.

Fill means an amount of something that will occupy all space in a container; make something full; to spread all through an area. That is what God wants to do in every area of your life.  He wants it to be full of blessings, favor, love, joy, peace and the list goes on.  Jesus said in John 10:10 (NIV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

So many times we feel empty and don’t even know what we are missing in our lives. A lot of times we go looking in all the wrong places to fill this void.  We start looking to be filled by people, relationships, work, friends, family, sex, drugs, alcohol, positions or possessions.  These things will never be enough when you look to them instead of looking to God.  Your emptiness will not go away with trying to medicate yourself using temporary fixes.  The empty part of your life that you are trying to conceal from everyone else is what God placed their so it would lead you back to Him.  He placed it there so he could be the only one to fix it.  Only what he has to offer can fill this part of your life.  Until you take your emptiness to God, you will just continue to take it with you wherever you go.  These actions will invite a lot of unnecessary hurt, pain, and drama into your life from this destructive behavior.   This could all be avoided if you are willing to turn it over to God and ask him to do what you could not do in the empty parts of your life.  No matter where you are in life, you can always use more of something from God.  More of God’s love, grace, peace, mercy, joy, etc.  You have not reached a maximal level in God.

What area in your life are you feeling lost or empty? Your life does not have to be this way.  If your life is this way in your hands, how much better could it be in God’s hands?

If you know you have some emptiness and are unsure what to pray, here is one to get you started:

Lord, show me where I have allowed emptiness to settle in me. Please reveal to me exactly what I have been doing to cover and conceal my emptiness.  Expose what I have used as temporary fixes to fill the voids.  Help me to bring healthy and fulfilling habits into my life.  Lord, I need you.  Come and pour yourself into me and fill every whole that can only be filled by you.  Fill me with more of you, fill me up till I overflow. Overwhelm me with more of your love, peace, joy, grace and mercy. In Jesus Name, Amen.

God Bless!

Push Through

Wanting to give up is so easy to do. Many people give up in the middle of their storm, never knowing what blessing was waiting for them at the end.  God doesn’t want you to see an obstacle in front of you and just give up and quit.  He wants you to push through till the end.  It says in Philippians 3:14 (NLT) I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us.

Push means a vigorous effort to do or obtain something; to press or urge forward to completion; to press forward energetically against opposition. Push through means to work through or force one’s way through something.  Just like in the bible, with the woman with the issue of blood. Luke 8:43-48 (NLV) A woman had been sick for twelve years with a flow of blood. (*She had spent all the money she had on doctors.) But she could not be healed by anyone.  She came behind Jesus and touched the bottom of His coat. At once the flow of blood stopped.   Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” Everyone said that they had not touched Him. Peter said, “Teacher, so many people are pushing You from every side and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’  Then Jesus said, “Someone touched Me because I know power has gone from Me.”  When the woman saw she could not hide it, she came shaking. She got down before Jesus. Then she told Jesus in front of all the people why she had touched Him. She told how she was healed at once.  Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” This woman had faith that Jesus could heal her from her infirmity, so she pushed through a crowd just to touch Jesus and because of her faith she was healed. With faith you can overcome and push through anything.  Don’t give up, and especially don’t give in, just push through it.  God has never given up on you, so don’t give up in the middle of your storm.  Just tap into your faith and believe that God is more than enough, no matter how bad it looks.

When you feel like you have given it your all and you can’t give no more, remember with God I can still push through. When you know the opposition you are facing is keeping you from something greater on the other side of it, just push through.  Stop thinking I can’t do this anymore and don’t believe it will never work out.  (PUSH) Persevere Until Success Happens.  It says in James 1:12 (NIV) Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. When times are tough and the odds look stacked against you, know that God is in your corner.  He is causing all things to work together for your good and you just have to push through it.  Every time you push through, you overcome an obstacle and God allows you to see things you could have never seen if you had given up because the obstacle was blocking your view.  You have to push through to get to what God has for you on the other side of your circumstances.  The only way to push through is not by asking God for your storm to be over, but ask Him for strength to overcome the adversity in your life.  God is never going to remove you from a storm before it’s supposed to end.  He wants you to get everything you need to from the process of experiencing the storm, so you can grow and develop in the midst of the storm.  James 1:3-5 (MSG) You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely.  Let it do its work so you can become mature and well developed not deficient in any way.  If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father.  He loves to help.  You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it.  Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought.  So it’s a process that you have you have to go through to be developed so you can become who God wants you to be.

Stop focusing on your situation but take the time to think of how you want to come out of the situation. Who do you want to be after its all said and done?  You can only come out of your trials being bitter or better.  Bitter, angry and resentful over what you went through or you can come out being a better person because of it.  The choice is yours to make, which one do you want to be when your storm is over?  No matter what, you had to go through the storm or God would not have allowed it.  The things that you are going through are only temporary.  This situation is not going to last forever.

Too many times we ask God to end our storm and deliver us out of the situation early but we don’t ask God to change us from the experience.  We are so worried about the trials we face in the storm and God just wants to change us during the storm.  He is not going to change your circumstances until He changes you first.  James 1:4 (NLT) So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

In order to grow, be blessed, be restored and live the purpose filled life that God wants you to live; you are going to have to push through some things. You are going to have to push through the barriers, obstacles, plans of the enemy, and your own negative emotions and feelings that try to control you.  It’s going to take faith to push through.  Faith plus you equals anything is possible (Faith + You = Anything Is Possible).

In this year, what are some things that you already know that you need to push through? Whatever those items are take them to God and surrender them to Him, so He can help you Push Through and become and overcomer in that area of your life!

Be blessed!

You Need To Get Your Fight Back

Are you in a fight right now where you are getting tired and feel like you are starting to lose momentum and want to give up?  Well then you need to get your fight back.  You need to get that fight (drive, power, motivation) back that makes you want to stand up and fight for the blessings and promises that God has for you that the enemy is trying to deceive you out of.  Sometimes the enemy will try to hit you with everything that he can knowing he will lose the fight, but he gets joy out of seeing you want to give up and quit.  You see the devil fights dirty.  The devil is already aware of how and where to hit you to hurt you the most.  he already has knowledge of where you are weak and the exact time when you are most vulnerable to be hit and hurt at the same time.  he will use this information to his full advantage and try and knock you out.  When you see he is trying to do this in your life, you need to remember that God is on your side and you need to fight the devil God’s way.  It says in Psalm 144:1 (NLT) Praise the Lord, who is my rock.  He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle.  Who better to train you for a fight with the devil than God?  He will train you and give you the skill to defeat the enemy in the fight.  The fights you face in life are fixed fights, with God bringing you out in victory every time when you do it His way.  You will never lose a fight because God never loses a fight.  If your fight looks like you are losing, then know that it’s not over and there is still one more round.  God has the final say about when your fight is over.  Until you come out a victor, then you are still in the fight.  It says in Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us?  So if God is for you and no one can be against you and win, then there is nothing the devil can hit you with that you can’t recover from.

Have you been hit so much and so strong that you are ready to quit and give up?  Well if you are ready to quit, then you are ready to tell the devil “he wins” in your situation.  Are you really ready to tell him that?  Just because you get knocked around or down in life, you need to get back up again and get back in the fight.  Yes, it is so easy to get discouraged when you have been in the fight for so long and you’re not sure how many rounds it will be till you win.  You need to keep the faith and know that God won’t let you leave the ring until your arm is up in the air and you are announced as the winner of the fight that you are in.

How would you rate your fight skills in your current situation?  Are you winning fighting God’s way or are you allowing yourself to be defeated by the trash talking and low blows that the enemy is throwing at you.  Realize it is the enemy fighting you in your life right now, for he comes to steal, kill and destroy you and your life.  he wants to steal your hope, kill the purpose that God has placed inside you and destroy your future.  That’s why he is hitting you so hard right now.  If you are feeling down and you are dealing with a defeated mentality, then you need to be encouraged by God’s word to gain the courage you need to get back in the ring and fight the devil on your knees.

Just look at the sport of boxing, both people are in a fight with each other believing they will win but there can only be one winner.  How do you win a fight God’s way when God is fighting for you.

  1. Equipment: Make sure you have the right equipment on to fight against the devil. Ephesians 6:11-13 (NLT) Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty power in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing. Wearing the armor of God will help you resist the devil which will protect you from the devil.
  2. Technique:  These are the things you can do to fight the devil: Punch/Sucker Punch the devil by encouraging someone else, speak the word of God, pray, fast from wrong thinking, read your bible, attend church when you don’t feel like it, do something to bless someone else, etc. Knockout the devil by praising God in advance of winning the fight and worship God like the fight has already been won. Defend yourself against the enemy by speaking God’s word back to him and be determined to stay in joy and peace during the fight. God’s peace can shield you from any blow that the devil tries to throw that was meant to hurt you.

Are you practicing the fighting techniques I just described in your situation?  If your answer is no, then you have some work to do if you want to win this fight the right way.  The only way to win the fight the right way is to do it God’s way.

Endurance means the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.  It also means the ability to continue or last while doing something difficult for a long period of time, despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions.  Building endurance is part of your development in Christ.  Romans 5:4 (NLT) And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  The fights we enter increase our endurance and God wants to teach us how to endure during the fight.

Muhammad Ali said, “I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.”  You need to tell yourself that you’re the greatest because of the greatness God has placed inside of you.  1 John 4:4 Greater is He who is in you, than He who is in the world.  God would never let you be in a fight you couldn’t win.  Anything you have authority over, you can win against.  Luke 10:19 (NIV) I have given you authority to trample snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.  So trust in God to get you to a winning position, because He has given you authority over the enemy to win.  When your fight is over, God wants you to be able to say 2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Now go get your fight back!!!

Uncharted means not recorded or located on a map, chart or plan.  It also means unknown or unexplored.  In relating this spiritually to life, it is when you are in a place in your life where you have never been, seen or experienced before.  It is a time in your life where things seem unfamiliar, uncomfortable, unrecognizable, strange and different.  Sometimes when you are in this kind of situation it can cause you to feel unsure about yourself, to doubt God, lose hope and just plain want to give up and throw in the towel and say I quit.

Paraphrasing Matthew 14:22-33 – it talks about Jesus walking on water and when the disciples saw him they were immediately terrified because they thought he was a ghost.  When they called Jesus a ghost he said “Don’t be afraid, take courage.  I am here!”  Peter called to Jesus and said “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”  Jesus said “Yes, come”.  Peter began to walk on the water toward Jesus, but when he saw the strong winds and the waves, he became terrified and began to sink.  He called to Jesus “Save me, Lord”.  Jesus reached out and grabbed him and said “You have so little faith, why did you doubt me?”  Walking on water was an uncharted territory for Peter.  He had never walked on water before.  It wasn’t until he took his focus off Jesus that he began to sink into the water.  Are you focused on God and walking on top of your situation or are you like Peter focusing on your situation and sinking into your problems more and more?  Stay focused on God.  Colossians 3:2 (NIV) Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  Keep your mind focused on Him and let Him do the leading.  It says in Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.  Let Him instruct you and lead your feet where to go since He is the one who orders your steps.  He knows the exact path that you should take, so He would be better to lead than you.

Yes uncharted territory can be scary because it is unknown to you and uncomfortable for you to be in.   All you have is the promise God made to you and the hope that comes from it.   You are unsure about: what you will have to walk through for you to go where He is calling you, what you should be doing to prepare for where He is taking you, and what your destination will look like once you arrive at it.  When you don’t know what to do, where you’re going, or how to prepare for your next destination, you need to turn to God.  He is the ultimate guide for where your life is going.  If you are in uncharted territory and need direction pray Psalm 25:4-5 (NLT) Show me the right path O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.  Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are God who saves me.  All day long I put my hope in you. God does not want you to be afraid while going through uncharted territory, He wants you to be strong and courageous as it says in Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT) So be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid and do not panic before them.  For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you.  He will neither fail you nor abandon you. Turn to God to gain direction and momentum in this season.  The territory you are in may not be on your map but it is on the map that God has for your life or you wouldn’t be in the situation.

When you experience uncharted territory situations it is an opportunity for God to remove any dependence you have on anything or anyone other than Him.  God wants you to be solely dependent on Him and trust in Him because He is the only one who can help you out of any situation.  God is trying to teach you how to trust Him in an area of your life where you haven’t had to trust Him before or you forgot how to trust Him in this area.  This is a strength training moment.  In order for you to gain strength in any area of your life, you have to keep training so that you become stronger.  God wants to grow you out of your immature ways of trusting Him, and make you stronger in this area of your life.

This is a growth opportunity for you because growth and comfort cannot co-exist at the same time.  You can’t grow in an area of your life without first having to be uncomfortable.  Through your life God is going to call you out of your comfort zone, so you might as well get use to sometimes being uncomfortable on this journey called life.  Through these uncomfortable situations you gain so many things including more trust in God, experience a deeper relationship and understanding of God, wisdom, courage, strength, hope, peace, joy and so much more that there is not enough room on this page to name it all.  Having to be in uncomfortable places in life is actually a benefit to you because of all you gain from the process of getting through the situations.  It is only a deficit or loss to you when going through these kinds of situations because you have taken your eyes off of God.  When you take your eyes off of Him, you can lose sleep, lose right perspective, lose wisdom, lose hope, lose peace, lose joy, and lose God’s guidance through the storm.  When you go through uncomfortable places in your life (for all of you who don’t want to experience these type of situations at all, just know there is no escaping uncomfortable places in your life), wouldn’t you rather experience the benefits of being uncomfortable?

In uncharted territory, you should never be trying to be a captain and a passenger of your ship at the same time.  Just allow God to be your captain and navigate you through your situation, while you play your role riding behind the captain as a passenger during the journey.  Quit trying to figure out what God has already worked out for your situation.  For we walk by faith and not by sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV).  In uncharted territory situations you have to use faith to get through it because it is unlike anything you have seen before.  Keep the faith and know where to keep your focus at all times.
