A change in perspective is needed when you are struggling with wrong thinking. Your thoughts about a person, place or thing should be good. When it’s not, ask God to change your viewpoint so you can begin to see it from his position. Seeing things from His angle can allow you to better understand the purpose of it. Sometimes when you look at your problems you only see the route out of them from your perspective, but when you can learn to see things how God sees them, it can open your eyes to see many routes and the opportunities for growth in it. In order to change your perspective about your past, struggles, problems or weaknesses, start by taking your thoughts captive. Choose to relinquish them to God and ask Him to give you a change in your perspective.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (AMP) We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 MSG The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
Heavenly Father, thank you for clarity and being able to gain a better understanding of you. Impart on me the capacity to view things in their true nature according to how you have positioned and purposed them for me to experience. Expand my mind to have a better understanding from your point of view when my perspective goes against what your word says. Teach me how to take my thoughts captive and cast out of me every thought that is not in complete obedience to Christ. In Jesus Mighty Name I Pray, Amen
