Lord, we thank you that your word is alive and active in us (Hebrews 4:12) and that it reaches down to the very being of who we are. Father help us to walk in the reassurance of the power in our tongue to speak life into situations and call things that are not, as though they are (Romans 4:17). Lord, make our lips overflow to speak love, praises to you and encouragement to those who need it. Fill our hearts with love, peace, and joy so that it becomes apart of who we are and the words that we speak becomes evident that we speak from a place of love, peace and joy in the Lord. Help us Father to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger (James 1:19) and choose our words wisely when we speak to others. Father even in times when our tone, volume, attitude, actions, or body language that we use speaks louder than our words let it all come from a place of love. Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable and pleaseing in Your sight, O Lord, my firm, immovable rock and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:14). May every word that we speak be a reflection of You who lives inside of us. Because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Lord show us when to speak and when we should just keep quiet to give you the opportunity to speak to people how you see fit. When we do speak, let the words we speak be words that you want us to say and that it would bring life, hope, healing, encouragement and Your love to the person who hears it. We pray God that as we speak that the hearer would be able to take in our words, process them and break them down in a way to be encouraged and see that we speak with God’s love. In Jesus Mighty Name We Pray, Amen!
Thank you Heavenly Father for your word that is sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Lord, help us to be people who speak words to build up the people of God. Lord, help us to no longer speak death but instead choose to speak life into ourselves, our situations, friends, family, children and anyone we come into contact with. Lord let us do as it says in Your word that we should only speak good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear us speak (Ephesians 4:29). Help us to not speak words that would offend others and let us not be easily offended by what is said to us.
Lord fill our hearts daily with your love, thanksgiving, compassion, and mercy to give to others. Let your goodness be so overflowing from our mouths that we have Your love to share with others and Your words to speak life into them. For Lord we know that the words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Lord we desire to be healed and to help bring healing to others. So Lord help us to guard our mouths and our tongues to keep us from calamity (Proverbs 21:23). Let us never use words of hurt or anger but speak from a heart of love and patience. Lord, close our mouths when speaking evil, or anything that is not true or that would be hurtful for someone else to hear. Lord set a guard over our mouths and keep a watch over the door of our lips (Psalm 141:3) so that whenever we speak death you would lovingly correct us and remind us to speak life. Lord, convict us in our spirit when we complain, speak negatively or speak death.
In JESUS Mighty Name, Amen!
